EDM Calibration Baseline Service

Surveyors have for the most part, obtained excellent results from EDMI. This leads to the temptation to accept the instrument on faith.

Such an approach however, must be tempered with some systematic plan to ensure a minimum accuracy requirement is maintained throughout the life of the instrument and equally important, to provide legal documentation against possible lawsuits arising from its use.

Calibration of measurement instruments is simply good professional practice. It builds professional credibility, simply by ensuring that the measurements produced are high quality and connected to the national standards. Calibration allows errors and uncertainties to be quantified, which allows their proper use in deriving accurate information, and ultimately forming a high-quality foundation for the decision making that results from survey work.

At SCS Engineering Surveyors we take EDM Calibration seriously. Over the past few years we have developed and refined our systems to establish ourselves as an industry leader in calibration QA.

We now offer a comprehensive service of checking the EDM calibration by our qualified surveyors.

We recommend that your instrument is service annually by the manufacturer and once this is done, we can arrange to perform the EDM Baseline Calibration service.

As part of our service you will receive the following:

• Collection and drop off of your instrument
• A Copy of field note observations for your records
• Signed Certificate stating the results and actions required from the calibration
• Peace of mind and confidence that your instrument has been professionally checked and certified
